If you ask me, I will tell you that mason jars are one material that you will always find in my home and one of my favorites to use it for crafting! Just use your imagination and you can create amazing things! The perfect recycle project like my Candle Jars or my Spring Fabric Vases and many more! And this Easter, I have decided to use them also for our candy treats to my god-children and to our beloved little friends.
If you are using Pinterest like I do, you will easily find this diy in many versions. Actually I was hoping to make this craft at least one year now, but I always cancelling it without no obvious reason. A walk to a local toy store and the package with the jungle animal miniatures we found, it was the great opportunity to change my mind! But I wanted to make it a little bit different than the crafts in Pinetrest. How? With fabric of course...my other favorite material!
Materials for Animal Decorated Mason Jars:
- Mason jars
- Animal toy miniatures
- Acrylic paint
- Paint brush
- Fabric Scraps
- Hot glue
- Scissor for fabrics
First use acrylic paints in favorite shades and paint your animal toys. You might need to paint them at least twice, depending of their material. Mine took 3 times. Let them dry.
With a scissor for fabrics cut the fabric in cyrcle in order to cover the jar cap but not to fully cover it. Use your hot glue to stabilize them on the caps. Of course, if you want them to be more stable, just decoupage them with white glue and let them dry. Hot glue on the animal's legs and put them on the fabrics. The jars are almost ready!Put your treats inside the jars and now we are ready!!!
We have created a few with different animals and it was a funny challenge to decide which animal goes to whom. Kids have been decided and the candy jar treats are ready to be shipped!
Of course these jars can be used not only for candy treats, but also to store pencils or the tiny things we are using on our work and are spread out on the desk or to store your cosmetics and soaps or even for birthday treats! Actually this craft is easy to use it in many different ways and it is even easier to create it!
So what do you think????
