I have tried so many different type of crafts and I have concluded about my favorites and which of them are not my style. You are guessing right, decoupage and painting is not my "type". Not because I do not like them, but because I cannot manage to create something beautiful at all. I have spent to many materials in the past and after at least 5 retries, I decided not to bother any more... for now. But then we had our 4th craft party (yes I know... I have to write about this amazing experience!) and Anna from Journeyintocreativity showed us how to paint in mandala style...and second thoughts just appeared!
Have you ever done any mandala drawing? Actually is not that difficult, it is really relaxing and because of the periodic appearence of the same pattern, it is difficult for you to fail (unless you are me of course!). So, when I saw that my wooden spoons for my kitchen are just wooden, I got dissapointed... no color? This had to change, so coffee next to me, kids playing around and I am on the kitchen with my spoons and my colors and start drawing!
Let's start together and see how to make mandala painting on your spoons. First, start by making cyrcles around the spoon with a marker.
And now the funny part. Just make the same schema in the circle and another schema on the next circle and go on.
If you wish to keep in monochrome, then you are done. But if your are color crazy like I am, then just use more coloed markers and start painting your schemas.
The spoons are ready and so funky! Just perfect for my kitchen and for Spring and for someone like me that sometimes I want something funny to make me cook!!!!!
My princess loved this idea, so she decided to start painting in the same way...guess... so far we have painted her notebooks and a couple of her wooden pencils and now she wants to make it on her doll's shirts!!! Nice....
And if you ask me, this type of painting and drawing is something that I finally like. I do not draw difficult patterns but everytime I want to relax, this is an easy way to do it and really funny and the kids are also participating!
So, have you painted your spoons????? Do you have color in your kitchen????
