Sunday morning and a few clouds appeared in the blue sky…I think Autumn just remembered that has not visited Crete so far! A great opportuniny for a small excursion in a beautiful traditional village called Fourni!
It has been years since my last visit in the village and I have to admit that I had forgoten how beautiful it was. Traditional houses from stones, beautiful small churches, gorgeous small roads and great colors and aromas from the trees and the flowers!
Fourni is only 17km away from Agios Nikolaos, but in order to get there you have to drive on to the mountain…great experience! Being in a beautiful small plateau up to the mountain, this village is just the perfect place to welcome Autumn by riding a bicycle
or just walking around in its small roads.
Here the life goes slowly…with the less stress and with more hapiness…do you remember this feeling?
What I loved in Fourni (as in any village of Crete) is the common decor. What I mean? that everyone can decorate the road with small planters or flowers and everyone will enjoy it.
And as I have already said, every village in Crete (and in general in Greece) has a hidden surspise… not just this palme tree but…
the traditional taverna called Palme Tree!
It is really pitty that I cannot descride and transfer you the taste and the aroma of the food while we were enjoying it under the shadow of the tree with the music of thousands cicadas!!!
This is life, this is happiness!!! I hope you will enjoy such simple moments every day!
