It supposed to have this post written from last July…but this never happened! I had a couple of days in Bucharest but there were enough just to love this city! So, join me for a small walk in the capital of Romania!

The flight was early in the morning and it was a good opportunity to meet Bucharest just before start working. So comfortable shoes, my camera with full battery, a map on my mobile, a coffee on my hand and the walk started! It was the first time I was in Bucharest and the first time I had a trip by my own, but it was so great that I do not mind do it again in the future!

My first stop was as you can imagine in Palatul Parlamentului! A small tour was just perfect to get the idea how the building was designed to be the palace of  Nicolae Ceaușescu, which actually never managed to enjoy…but this is another post!

The city was full of trees and beautiful parks and canals and big streets and it was really easy to walk around without get lost. Old buildings were just next to big grey modern buildings, but actually they were team up so beautifully!

And then it was the old town… the centre of Bucharest. Beautiful buildings, gorgeous churches, so many small shops and too many restaurants and coffee shops. A place with too many tourists and local people talking loud and laughing and enjoying coffee and food. I really enjoyed this walk I have to admit and I had a so delicious launch in Caru cu Bere, full of local tastes! One thing I like so much, was a small street full of rock bars! Oh yes… too many bars and coffee shops playing rock music and it was just great to be there and enjoying all time classic songs while you were having also shopping therapy…it was a beautiful break!

The city also has many beautiful parks with small lakes and this one was just next to my hotel. I didn’t manage to visit it (I will definately do this the very next time I will be in Bucharest) and have a small relaxing trip with the boats!

Bucharest is a beautiful city, that you definately have to visit sometime and to enjoy every single small street it has! I was lucky to be there at least for a couple of days… and I hope I will visit the city once more in the future!
