Diy Wooden Cactus in a painted Planter! A beautiful craft to enjoy with your little ones. Painted wooden cactus in a planter, a great gift!

Even thought I am a huge fan of flowers and plants, I am also a destroyer! Oh yes…. none plant can live with me more than a month or two! But on the other hand, I am doing my best to solve this issue! And since this year my beloved cactus are everywwhere, it was just the perfect time to create an amazing planter, that will stay with me forever!

Materials for the Hippie Wooden Cactus Planter:

– Wooden Cactus (you can find it here)
– Acrylic Colors
– Paint Brush
– Clay Planter
– Colored tiny pebbles

When I decided to have an immortal cactus, I just asked the help of my friend Helen from Dimiourgise. I have sent to her this schema of the cactus and she prepared for me these amazing wooden cactus! Simple amazing!!! To be honest I love her work so much, that I have requested more… but this is another story! So let’s start! Actually this craft can be easily prepared from our kids. The only thing you need is colors and more colors! So let’s start by painting our wooden cactus! Let it dry!

And then let’s prepare our planter. This time I got a clay one in brown shades so as you can imagine it was again really monochrome for me… so yellow, bright green, hot pink and turquoise and let’s the game begin! Put color and water in your brush (more water than usual) and just put it on the end of the planter and push it for a while. The color will start moving creating in that way “tears”.

Do not wait your first color to dry in order to put the next one, just put in next to the first color and so on. In that way the colors will be mixed at the beginning and they will create a beautiful pattern. I have painted more my planter and here it is!

When the colors are dried, put the colored tiny pebbles into the planter and then stabilize the wooden cactus. If you want to be more stable, just glue on the back popcycle sticks. Our planter is ready!!!

I think is the most cute cactus I have ever had! And you know??? It will live for ever in my home 🙂

Afterall is Spring and we need more color in our days!!!! And if you need your personal Cactus or planter, just ask Helen to make it for you!

Happy Crafting!!!!
