School’s Opening Day and every year this day we have a special mini celebration for my princess (yes, I will have it also for my prince in a few years from now!). Not fancy things, but the specific day I always am out of the office and we are doing something special with her. This year, the weather was amazing, so we had a walk in Athens centre…in a place which looks like being in Alice’s wonderland! Full of beloved fairytales! A perfect coffee shop for you and the kids…Little Kook!
I have told her that I had a small surprise for her. So we used the train to go downtown and we got to Μonastiraki station. From there the coffee shop is only 2min on foot. Imagine her enthusiasm when she saw this place!!! She first realized that there were amazing full of colors fabric garlands on the small street in front of the shop and after a few seconds she realized that this was not the surprise, but the coffee and sweet shop at the end of the street! Clowns, ballarinas, acrobats were waiting for her and of course a huge ice cream! Ok the specific ice cream was not a real one, but behind it it was a tiny ice cream shop full of our favorite tastes!
The main building of Little Kook is like Alice from Wonderland being in a Circus, while a huge dragon was resting on the roof! Simple amazing! The inside of the coffee shop was also incredible, but since the weather was hot and sunny, we decided to join our sweet in the tables outside in the small street. And guess in which table she decided to sit… yeap… with the polka dots! I know…like mother like daughter!
Cold water, a decaf coffee for me and then our desserts…. full of sugar and cream and chocolate…but I told you, this was a special day! If you been in this place ever, just taste the Red Velvet Cake! Delicious!!!!
I was really happy that my princess enjoyed this walk and this small surprise, so we decided that we will visit the place again, but this time with also the men of our family! After all, there was a dragon waiting for my prince! Just an advice… if you really want to enjoy this place, just visit it early in the morning (it opens at 11) or in the afternoon, because after that it becomes very crowdy. The only thing that I didn’t like? I was expecting the ladies working in this place to be more… happy! I do not know why, but woking in a fairytale place it is something magical… I guess! ok..it might be due to the specific day… However both of the ladies that have served us, were really friendly (especially with my princess) and really polite!
So, if you have the chance, just take your kids for a sweet in this beautiful place! Little Kook in Athens Centre!
