One of the things I love to do while enjoying my Summer vacations, is of course to collect materials from the beach. Really, pebbles, shells, driftwood and many more are amazing for the decoration and for the crafts of course. My favorite is always the small driftwood, which can be used everywhere! This time I used it to prepare a pastel colored necklace, perfect to wear it this Summer. A recycle project with simple materials! DIY Summer Painted Driftwood Necklace!!!

Materials for the Pastel Painted Driftwood Necklace:
- Driftwood
- Acrylic Paint
- Paint Brush
- Dremel
- Jump rings
- plier set
- chain
- eye pins
- optionally : lace ribbons

There is a specific beach on my favorite Crete, full of driftwood and amazing shells. The kids help me to collect them and then of course to paint them and make crafts with them. Of course the only thing you need is imagination. So after we just painted them and decorate them on the vase, we used them also to create a beautiful base for my air plant… and not is the time to try it for jewelry too. The idea was to make an uncommon necklace for me. My favorite pastel shades and simple lines on the wood and let it dry!

The next step is the most tricky, since we need to make two wholes on the wood. I used my Dremel tool, but any tool will be great. Just make two wholes in the edges of the wood and pass the eye pins. With the plier tool make simple rings and the main part of our jewel is ready!

Add two jump rings and connect the chain. If you want to make a long necklace, just close the chain loop with a jump ring, else you need to use also a lobster. The necklace is ready! A couple of shabby chic details and we are done… simple knots of lace ribbons! Pink and Mint green in order to match with the colors of the wood.

The driftwood necklace is ready! The end to end process will not take more than a hour and the delay is because we want to have the paint dry before using it. After that the next steps are easy to follow. Just use your favorite shades and small details and you can create amazing jewels with simple materials!

My necklace is ready and really trendy! So, happy crafting my friends and just use your imagination!
