When I was a child we didn’t have the opportunity to taste pumpkin so often. Actually, pumpkin is not that famous (or at least it was not) in Crete, so my mother, even thought she is a great cooker, she actually did not know how to cook it. The only recipe she ever tried and actually it was just ok, was Fried Pumpkin Sticks with Yogurt! Now, imagine two kids that actually were always complaining about food and trying to feed them with Pumpkin! No way! We didn’t even tried it because actually we could not understand how a zucchini can be orange and sweet! So my mother stopped trying with this vegetable. And then I grow up and now I am in my mother’s position! I do not like at all… but I tried and found this amazing recipe and my kids actually adore it! Pumpkin Pie with Feta Cheese and Turkey!


Ok, to be honest I tried a lot to find a salty recipe with pumkin, but it was difficult. I have tried it as a sweet with honey and raisins, but again the kids were not thrilled. And then, i asked my friend Lilia from Spoon Stories for this and she provided me with this amazing recipe (almost… I have changed a few things)! A Pie with cheese and turkey and without dough! So easy to make, so easy to add more incredients or to remove whatever you do not like and cook it according to your taste. But what I love most, is actually that you can taste it even cold and you can eat it like a pizza! My princess loves to have it as snack in school!



Ingredients for Pumpkin Pie with Cheese and Turkey:
– 1/4 of a small pumpkin
– 3 eggs
– 5 slices turkey lunchmeat
– 1 table spoon olive oil
– 1 small dried onion
– 150gr cheddar cheese
– 250gr feta cheese
– 1/3 cup fresh milk
– salt / pepper
– 3/4 cup all purpose flour


Cut the pumpkin in small cubes, or if your kids are really curious with their food, put it in the food processor and smash it. In a small friedpan, add the olive oil and cook it for a couple of minutes.



In a bowl, add the pumpkin, the smashed onion, cheese, turkey (in small pieces), salt and pepper and the eggs and mix them. Finally add the flour and your mixture is ready. Cover your baking dish with cooking paper and add the mixture. Cook it for about 40min to 180degrees, or until the top is firm and just starting to turn golden. Buon Appetite!

  1. Τέλεια ιδέα για κολατσιό! Εμένα η μητέρα μου έφτιαχνε μόνο γλυκά με τη γλυκιά κολοκύθα (ήταν πεντανόστιμα μπορώ να πω) αλλά στην αλμυρή εκδοχή δεν την έχω δοκιμάσει! Θα δοκιμαστεί άμεσα η συνταγή σου! Ευχαριστώ! Φιλιάαα

  2. κανονικα τετοια ωρα δεν πρεπει να μπαινω ν αδιαβαζω τετοιες αναρτησεις…γιατι αργω ακομη να επιστρεψω σπιτι γι αφαγητο!!! φαινεται τοοοσο λαχταριστη!

  4. Είμαι ακριβώς στην ίδια φάση.. Αρνιόμουν να δοκιμάσω κολοκύθα άλλου χρώματος και έτσι δεν την έχω φάει ποτέ, για τις συνταγές που τις κάνουν γλυκό ούτε να της δω.. Την κρατάω να την δοκιμάσω σύντομα!
