My mother is the “typical” Greek mother…. you know… the one who always thinks you are young child (even thought I am 38 and mother of two…), who always believe that you never eat much (even thought I am far away from my normal weight…) and she always tries to take care of you (even thought you are not even at the same town with her). And because of all these, she always prepares a package with food to send you almost every week… to eat well!
Last Friday we received such a package full of fresh fruit from Crete and food prepared from my mom and of course fresh greens, which we love to enjoy with lemon and olive oil! I was ready to wash them and then cook them, when we discovered a tiny cute visitor! My baby boy was thrilled! A tiny snail in our kitchen!
We observed it and we played with him or her (who knows) and then we decided to find him/her a new home. My beloved jasmine in my balcony became his (let;s say that he is a boy!!!) new home! I wish he will find it interesting and really green to live on it!
Because just think about it… he was enjoying a meal in the grass somewhere in Crete. My mother accidentally collected him with the greens and sent him away to a really long trip for him. He came to Athens and he discovered my kitchen! I know he would be surprised and so terrified! Since it was difficult to send him back to Crete, I hope he will find a new home in my garden! Sorry little snail and Welcome! I will try to be a good hostess…you are a family now!
A small story sacred to my friends that are away from home and to every single person that leaves his house because he decided to do it or because he forced to do it!
