Walking Around in Psiri Athens! A beautiful walk in traditional roads, that will travel you back to 50s. Just do not forget to have your camera with you!
Thuesday morning and I have decided to do nothing or to be more specific to not go at the office and to spend the day just for myself! Afterall, having a day just for ourselves is more than necessary! And I was start wondering, what to do that will actually relax me? Piece of cake! A call to a great frined of mine and we had a date! Comfortable shoes and clothes, my camera on my bag and ready to go! Coffee, chat and photoshooting in our program!
No, I will not share with you what we did in our coffee, but I will tell you that we had great time once more in one of my favorite coffee shops. pancakes for me and a Banana creamy cake for Maria and we are ready to go! The main plans were not to stay and chat only, but to visit shops and to walk around! And when I am saying shops, I do not mean shops for cloths and shoes, but shops for diy materials! And then… just walking around in Athens center and admiring and photoshooting! And this my friends, was my absolute way to relax!
This time I wanted to visit Psiri, a beautiful corner of Athens that I try to visit everytime I am in the center in order to taste my beloved sweets. Even though I am there very often, I haven’t walked around in the small roads of Psiri for so long time. But that day was just perfect! The weather was really amazing and my mode was also great! And if you are in such a great mode, it is actually really easy to admire even the simplest things! So, have you ever admired the amazing traditional wooden doors in the houses in this area? Green and red and mint blue…so amazing colors and patterns! It was like being in the past for a while!
And then just spend a few moments to admire the labels in the streets and the road lights! So many beautiful lamps in so many beautiful styles and colors! It is really amazing how these lamps are connected to the street style and can always be “in fashion”.
But I am still a crafter in my heart, so details and crafts on the walls and the doors were always getting my attention! Hanging planters from old watering cans or small sofas from storage racks and paintings were simple great ideas decortaing of our home and balcony!
And then there were these posters advertising concerts or shops, that were creating such a beautiful collage full of colors! It was like a photo collage on the wall, which actually reminded me my period in the university! I had so many posters on my student room to decorate it and some of them I still have them on my house! Because some times, the angly or the anarchy might create something beautiful full of color!
And now, I feel relaxed!!! so…where to go next time??? any ideas???
