Honey Baked Donuts with Strawberry Glaze! Yummy dessert, sugar free, perfect for the kids!
Sunday Morning and you desperately want something sweet with your breakfast! I have told you before, I do not like milk but if I taste it with an additional flavor…like chocolate or honey or vanilla, then I become fan of it! Yes, I know, I am doing exactly what I try hardly not to do my kids! But again, who can resist in a glass of Cold Milk with a Honey Donut with Strawberry Glaze??? Not even Santa Claus!!! Of course a sweet that is actually having healthy ingredients, is not that big mistake to do…right?
Even thought I love donuts, somehow I have never tried them to do so far. I adore their schema and how easy you can taste them with milk or tea or coffee. I also like that you can decorate them with a colored glaze with chocolate or fruit or vanilla taste, but most of all I adore how cute they are look like with these amazing and tiny sprinkles! However I always consider them really difficult to cook them and on the other hand I never like the fried donuts that are so oily! And then I discovered the Donut Mold from Silikomart, that I actually adored it, because actually is easy to use it and to have baked (not fried) donuts!!! And making donuts now is just a game!
Ingredients for Honey Donuts with Strawberry Glaze (serving 10):
– 1 cup + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
– 5 tablespoon Honey
– 1 teaspoon Baking Powder
– 4 tablespoon Greek Yort ( I have used Goat’s Greek Yogurt)
– 1 tablespoon Fresh Milk (Goat’s Milk again)
– 1 egg
– 1/2 tablespoon Vanilla extract
– 1 tablespoon Softened Butter
For the Glaze:
– 100gr Cheece cream
– 2 tablespoon Strawberry Jam
– Springles for the decoration
In a small bowl mix up flour and baking powder. On a second bowl mix up the butter with egg and then add the yogurt, the vanilla, the honey and the milk. Add the flour and keep steering until the mixture is homogenous. Divide the mixture in the Donuts Silicon Mold and bake for 8 minutes in 180C degrees. Allow them to cool and gently remove them form the mold. Prepare in a seperate bowl the Glaze by just mixing up the jam with the Cheece Cream and decorate them. Springles are optionally!
These are the first donuts I made and they are actually really tasty! I am already thinking what is the next recipe I will try and for sure I would love to try Tahini or Peanut Butter… we will see. One thing is for sure, next time I will try to make them together with the kids. I am sure that they will love to bake them and then to decorate them!
